Mojo Monday Challenge 206

This is my take on this week's fun round or square challenge.  I know that a 4 1/4 in card will fit in a regular A2 envelope, but I opted to make mine a 5 in square card.  I just love the new buttons that coordinate with the Spice Cake DSP (available Sep 1)  Here I used the Paisley Prints stamp set along with the new DSP.  I stamped the image in Soft Suede and then More Mustard after stamping off once.  The one leaf just looked too lonely on the card.   Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo 205

It seems as if Mojo is the only stamping I have time for since school started back.  Pretty soon, I'll get back into the swing of things.  I've been working on some really cool ideas for my stamp club, so I'll show those soon!  Although I didn't adhere to all of the elements of this week's sketch, I got pretty close.  I used the Frightful Sight DSP for the main rectangle.  Then I used cajun craze and basic black for the card base and layers.  It's a very simple take on the sketch, but I like it.  The sentiment is from Got Treats.  I looped  a skinny piece of cajun craze through the black button holes.  I hope you enjoy!

Mojo Monday Challenge 204

Well, can you tell I'm back at work?  Ha!  It's going to take some adjusting to get back into the swing of things.  I've been on maternity leave since March!  Waking up at 5:30 is a difficult thing.  Here is my take on the Mojo challenge this week.  Although I didn't include all of the elements, I'm pretty happy with the outcome.  This uses SU's new Frightful Sight DSP.  It has a lot of fun patterns that could go for things other than Halloween as well.  The stamp is from Greeting Card Kids.  I always hesitate to get stamps that need to be colored in, but this one came together pretty quickly.  I tried first with pastels, but decided I liked the look of the markers better.  I used SU's new striped embossing folder on the piece of Old Olive card stock.  I really like the depth of the texture.  I cut my circle with the Circle Scissors Plus in order to get one the perfect size.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday Challenge 203

So I'm a little late this week for my Mojo challenge, but the kids went back to school today, so my priorities were with them this morning.  I'm pleased to say that they both had a wonderful first day.  I've got one more day before I go back to work, so I'm going to spend it with my youngest and love her up before sending her to daycare on Wednesday :(.

This is my take on this week's sketch.  I used Just Add Cake DSP and So Saffron and Peach Parfait card stock.  I love the bright colors.  It's just an all around happy card.  The stamp set I used for the hot air balloon was Up, Up, and Away.  The sentiment was from Under the Big top.  Though I love the elephant on the stamp, I colored it in with markers because I only wanted the words.  The ribbon is retired So Saffron from a ribbon bundle from SAB years ago!  Thanks for looking!

Tea with a Domestic Goddess

Well, well, well...who wouldn't love to have nothing better to do all day than create that many dishes drinking tea?  Ha!  I am in love with this Domestic Goddess DSP and I couldn't wait to find an appropriate time to use it.  My stamp club is doing a sketch challenge each month.  I send them the sketch, and then they create something wonderful and bring it to the next meeting.  I came up with this idea instead of doing swaps.  Many of us are way to busy to make 10 of the same card each month.  This way, they can all share their take on the very same sketch.  Everyone will be bringing their cameras on Sunday to see everybody else's ideas.  Isn't that fun?  Well, this is my take on the sketch.  Everything on this card is current including the adorable little oval punch at the bottom. (It made it over from one of the minis, and I'm so happy).
On to the card...I used Domestic Goddess DSP and the Morning Cup stamp set.  I colored the tea cups in with Pool Party and Calypso Coral.  I used the Petal Card double punch for the little envelope which holds a 1 inch square "popping" out with a mini clothespin.  Very easy to re-create!!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday Challenge 202

Wow...sorry I've been a little MIA.  This is our last week of summer and it's like we are going in hyper speed ALL the time to get everything done we've been putting off all summer long.  My two oldest go back to school Monday, but I don't have to go back until the 10th!  So I'll have two days alone with the baby of the bunch before she starts daycare!  I'm so sad, but it's for the best!  She's been giving the poor ladies at church a run for their money all summer.

Okay...to the card.  This is my take on this week's challenge.  This card features one of the new DSPs in the catalog which I simply love.  It's called Big Top Birthday and it lends itself to perfectly coincide with stamp sets such as Under the Big Top, Pennant Parade, and Up, Up, and Away (which is the one I used for the sentiment).  It's so cheery and perfect for a birthday card or any card for a child!  I used Tempting Turquoise grosgrain (which WAS retired, but came back)  and Real Red grosgrain (which is newly retired) I just love it and I hope you do too!  Thanks for stopping by!
