My Digital Studio

Okay....so I've done some experimenting in the past with MDS, but I never really had the time to play around with it.  I made a scrapbook last summer using one of the predesigned templates and loved it.  It was so user friendly.  Though I'd love to do that again, I am challenging myself to come up with a scrapbook BY MYSELF!  I'm creative, I can do it...right?  Well, here's the cover.  Hopefully, I'll get more detailed as I get more experience, but for right now, I really like this.  I don't want something that's too wild or modern that I look back on in ten years with the same attitude many have towards blue eye shadow and shoulder pads.  "Hey, it was cool at the time!"  Boy, are we smarter now!
About the MDS...though you can't see it well in the photo, there is a distressed background done in Baja Breeze.  I'm hoping that when it prints, it shows up much clearer.  Since this is the cover, I didn't want anything too busy.  I hope you enjoy it.

A Little Something CASEd

This card is NOT my creation at all.  This card I CASEd from Mary Fish!  I love her.  I just love her color combinations and her wonderful eye for creative cards.  Go visit her blog if you haven't before.  She's amazing.  For this, I used Basic Black, Blushing Bride, and Whisper White.  Don't you just love the new punch?  I can't stop using it!  Enjoy!

Thanks Twelve Times

This card is so simple!  I got the color combination from the Build A Bear DSP.  The base is Poppy Parade, with a layer of So Saffron.  I used Pretty Postage and the coordinating punch from the summer mini.  Clean and Simple!

Flower Fest Thanks

The thing I love most about stamp sets like this one is that there's no need for DSP! It's so easy to create your own with ANY colors! For this, I used Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, and Basic Black! The sentiment is from the summer mini.  The ribbon is black satin that is scrunched by fraying the end and pulling one strand slowly.  It takes a little practice, but once you get it, it comes really easily. I adhered it on with sticky strip. So fun!

"Perk" Up!

This is a tent card that I think is really cool! The cut out on the front was done with the Circle Scissors Plus.  You could create the same effect with any of the SU dies!  I used the Woodland Walk DSP which I just love.  To create the tent effect, I cut card stock to 4 X 4 and then scored at 1, 2, and 3 inches.  So simple!

Friendly "Hello"

Here's just a friendly "hello" that could be used for so many things.  I like this card a lot because it could be for a male or female.  I cased the layout from something I saw on the Stampin' Connection.  I used First Edition DSP and Cherry Cobbler wide ovals for the top and bottom accents.  Super Easy!

Mojo Monday Challenge 191

This is my take on this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I just love this DSP and will be so sad when it retires.  I used Woodland Walk DSP for the main image as well as the faux ribbon.  The sentiment is from the Level 3 Hostess set called Occasional Quotes.  This set alone is worth hosting a workshop.  It has so many wonderful sayings in it.  I used pearls and vanilla rosettes to add that extra pop!  I hope you enjoy!

Birthday Gala

I still love Greenhouse Gala DSP.  It works up so quickly for a fun card.  For this, I used the new Pretty Postage stamp set from the new summer mini.  I also used the new Postage Stamp Punch and layered it on the 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 in squares.  Isn't it great?  The sentiment could be easily changed to anything you desire.

Spring into Summer

Summer is approaching, and with that, the new SUMMER MINI!!!  This is a card I created for my stamp club.  It features the new Beyond the Garden DSP.  I just love all of the bright colors.  This is one of the more muted sides, so I decided to pop it with a strip of melon mambo and the new matching embossing powder!  The base is Daffodil Delight and the layers are Pacific Point and Whisper White.  The sentiment is from Happy Greetings and the embossed flower is from Fabulous Florets.  Have a nice day and enjoy the weather before it gets too hot!

Masculine Monday

Isn't it always tricky to create masculine cards?  I always have the hardest time because I LOVE DSP and there's seldom any that are male appropriate.  Though boating or golfing may be specific to certain men, all men can relate to ties.  I got the inspiration for this layout and color combo from Mary Fish, but changed it up a little to make it my own!  I decided to use the ties from the new summer mini.  This stamp and sentiment both came from the set called Best Dad Ever. I embossed the ties and daubed all of the edges.  This could easily be a Father's Day card if you'd rather.  Either way, make it for the special man in your life!  Have a wonderful Monday!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!  Though I've had two step children since getting married, this is my first year to have Mother's Day with an infant!  Trust me, it's not all about moms when a nine-week old is involved!  This is the bookmark card I created for my stamp club.  I used the SU paper tool to make the perforations so the bookmark tears away after the recipient is finished with the card.  I created the pinwheel with two sides of the same DSP.  It's very easy, and super simple to create this effect.  I hope you enjoy this card and your special day!
